The baroque city of Itria Valley

Martina Franca is an ancient village nestled on one of the last hills of the south-eastern Murgia. You have only to enter the town to admire the stately palaces and the majestic and monumental churches inside which you will be surrounded by the unique beauty of the masterpieces of painters, sculptors and marble workers of the eighteenth century’s Neapolitan School.

Saint Martin and Saint Comasia
Thruth and legends
Legend has it that the statue of San Martino should never precede the statue of Santa Comasia, co-patron saint of the city, if so it would become incredibly heavier with every meter covered. Santa Comasia is considered the first patron saint of Martina Franca, and is still venerated as the Patron Saint of the miracle of rain.
