At just 30 minutes drive from Almapetra Trulli Resort, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful cities of southern Italy, Ostuni.

Set on the top of a hill, you will be suddenly struck by the charm of its whitewashed houses. The historic center, called "La Terra" by their inhabitants, is a weave of small white houses that seem to overlap in an original and perfect architecture. As unique, suggestive, rich in history as all the cities of the Itria Valley, in Ostuni you should visit the defensive walls, the Cathedral in late Gothic style, the Bishop's Palace and the Loggia.

For lovers of folklore and traditions, we suggest participating in two events in particular: "La Cavalcata di Santo Oronzo", patron saint of the city, held from August 25th to 27th with a wonderful parade of horses escorting the silver statue of the saint, and the "Processione della Madonna Grata", also repeated annually on the first Sunday of August, with the characteristic and crowded procession that unravels through the streets of the white city illuminated by thousands of candles brought by the faithful.
